Heart Health event on Wednesday 9th September at Holsworthy Livestock Market.
This event is open to not just our farming community but the wider public as well.
Look out for the large marquee which will be staffed by local nurses, Heart Failure nurses and cardiologists from NDDH.
There will be 10 screening stations running concurrently.
Heart failure can also develop after certain infections, chemotherapy or other treatments that damage the heart.
Coronary artery disease or a previous heart attack
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Diabetes
Obesity
Heart valve disease
Abnormal heart rhythms, especially atrial fibrillation
Cardiomyopathy or other diseases of the heart muscle
Congenital heart disease
Chronic kidney disease
Smoking or heavy alcohol use
A family history of cardiomyopathy or heart failure
Increasing age, particularly older adults
